The Favric Expo

Overview

We are threads of identity shaping your lives. Stay as you are.

The Favric Expo is an annual exhibition that celebrates personal identity through fashion and self-expression. Participants are invited to present outfits that represent who they are. The exhibition transforms clothing into a medium of storytelling, where each garment reflects the individuality of its wearer. The term “Fabric” symbolizes the diverse threads of identity that shape people’s lives.

The Favric Expo needed a new brand identity system. I developed a new name, logo, and visual identity that reflect the brand’s mission of celebrating self-expression, individuality, and authenticity.

Challenges

The Favric Expo, initially named 'The Fabric Exhibition', had an initial vision and creative direction, but lacked a clear brand foundation including a defined name, logo, tagline, and mission. While the exhibition aimed to welcome and encourage participants to express themselves, its visual identity remained highly minimal and restrained. This approach was originally intended to avoid influencing participants’ self-expression, but it made the brand feel invisible and less engaging. As a result, the brand needed a stronger identity that retain its openness while becoming more visible, distinctive, and inviting.

Solution

I began from studying the brand’s existing activities, voice, and values; They see fashion itself as a tool for self-expression, celebrating individuality and authenticity as the core of the exhibition.

Considering their visions, the brand was newly named "The Favric Expo", a combination of 'Favourite' and 'Fabric', representing personal identity expressed through clothing. Rather than maintaining a purely minimal approach, I introduced a more welcoming and accessible design direction. This shift moves the brand from being quiet and easily overlooked to becoming confident, visible, and inviting.

Logo Design

Favourite + Fabric = Favric

The logo symbol represents a person itself running or jumping. This gesture reflects the willingness to express oneself and participate in the exhibition. A sleek sans-serif typographic system preserves the brand’s modern character, while a symbolic mark introduces warmth and approachability. This shift moves the brand from being quiet and easily overlooked to becoming confident, visible, and inviting.
